Royal Visit
During the afternoon of Wednesday the 16th July, 2008, HRH, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex will officially visit the recently refurbished Unique Coffee Bar Newark, which was established in 2000 to benefit young people aged 14-25 in the Newark area.
His Royal Highness works on behalf of a number of charities and organisations, particularly those connected with young people and the arts, including The Duke of Edinburgh's Award which encourages young people to undertake exciting, constructive and challenging activities.
Reflecting His Royal Highnesses' strong young person focus, this visit will include an opportunity for him to observe Unique’s young people’s work at first hand in a lesson and during a work experience session. He will meet young people and staff from both the Unique Coffee Bar and the Unique Scrap Store along with Unique’s Trustees, local dignitaries and the funders involved in Unique Coffee Bar’s refurbishment.
During his visit to the Unique Scrap Store, His Royal Highness will have the opportunity to observe a creative craft workshop using scrap materials involving a group of young children; it is hoped that this will be of particular interest to him with regard to his keen interest in the Arts.
Further information regarding the visit will be sent out closer the date. The visit is now officially displayed on the Royal web site, which can be viewed via the link below.
