CRB Record Checks
As a registered Umbrella Body with the Criminal Records Bureau, we are able to conduct record checks on behalf of local groups. We charge only £9 for any type of CRB check. This is combined with the CRB charge to create the total prices below:
- Standard - £35
- Enchanced - £45
- Volunteer - £9
All prices include VAT. Checks take approximately 4-6 weeks to come back to us
Who MUST have a CRB Check?
Anyone who comes into contact with children or vulnerable adults needs a CRB check, however, are you aware that the following also need one?
- Nanny
- Au Pair
- Babysitter
- Registered Child Minder
- Scout or Guide Leader
- School Governor
- Sports Coach
- Age Group Manager
- Bar Manager
- Tea Lady
- Caterer in Sports Clubs
In many cases having a CRB checked member of your organisation or as an Individual is not only a necessity, but a favourable endorsement of the Community Group, Organisation or individual’s commitment to their role
What Types of Check are Available?
Organisations wishing to use the service can ask successful job applicants to apply for one of two types of check. The type of check required will depend upon the nature of the position. These are called Enhanced and Standard Disclosures, both require a fee but are free of charge to volunteers
Standard Disclosure
This is primarily available to anyone involved in working with children or vulnerable adults, as well as certain other occupations and entry into professions as specified in the Exceptions Order to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Standard Disclosures show current and spent convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held on the Police National Computer
Enhanced Disclosure
This is the highest level of check available to anyone involved in regularly caring for, training, supervising or being in sole charge of children or vulnerable adults. It is also available in certain licensing purposes and judicial appointments. Enhanced Disclosures contain the same information as the Standard Disclosure but with the addition of any relevant and proportionate information held by the local police forces
A copy of the Standard or Enhanced Disclosure will be sent out to the applicant as well as the Registered Body.
